Speaking Dream

She got out of the flat, out and about, saw the elephant man.

Asked: Are you the elephant man?

Recalled a dream of herself: A piece of cold meat in a pan.

Asked herself: was I that piece of chicken?

The question lingered without effect.

Imagined mother as the turkey.

She remained unaffected too.

HW!

He was quite a grown-up.

He was communicating,

Getting out and about,

Finding others modelling the elephant man quite elegantly.

So, here was the party:

Sat there was the elephant man.

Laying here was the chicken.

There was also the baby,

And so was the mother, and Henry!

Despite him, she remained a rabbit,

Went to Germany,

Came back to England: a legend.

Her; the American dream!

She bullshits you not: Ice-cream sandwiches, pizza slices with ham, muffin,

Rows of apples; all the same size and color, democracy imported indeed.
